Burn-in tests and thermal cycles for maximum reliability
Many latent defects in electronic components emerge only during the first hours of operation or following thermal stress. To intercept these potential anomalies before delivery, we perform burn-in tests and thermal cycles in a climatic chamber: these procedures aim to validate the operation of each product under real operating conditions and controlled environmental stress. During burn-in, the boards are powered and monitored for a predetermined period, allowing components to stabilize and identifying any early failures (“infant mortality” of semiconductors).
The use of the climatic chamber allows us to push testing beyond standard limits. We are able to subject devices to repeated thermal cycles, rapidly varying temperature and humidity. This process validates the integrity of the solder joints and the stability of plastic and metallic materials.
Tropicalization and protection in extreme environments
In certain industrial sectors, such as petrochemical, marine, or outdoor instrumentation, electronic boards are exposed to corrosive atmospheric agents, dust, and high humidity levels. To protect circuits in these critical scenarios, we can perform tropicalization and conformal coating treatments. The application of special protective resins creates an insulating barrier that prevents oxidation and short circuits, significantly extending the useful life of the device.
